The people had the ingenious idea of ​​preparing the same tortilla, but simply and without potatoes. They called this dish “French tortilla”. Even today it receives this name in some regions.

The main ingredient in this dish is the egg, although many creative people like to add other ingredients to prepare it. That’s why there are many variations of this popular recipe.

This is a recipe you can prepare with your favorite vegetables to make the most of the egg’s flavor. You can create different variations, according to your tastes and the moment. However, we propose an easy-to-prepare base recipe.

Ingredients

  • 4 or 5 eggs (300 g).
  • 1 small onion (60 g).
  • 1 small carrot (60 g).
  • 2 teaspoons of salt (10 g).
  • 1 teaspoon of pepper (5 g).
  • 1 small red pepper (80 g).
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil (60 ml).
  • Cheese, chopped into small pieces (100 g).
  • 2 slices of turkey breast or ham (25 g).

Preparation

  • First, cut the carrots into small cubes and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  • Then, in a small skillet, saute the bell pepper and onion with two tablespoons of olive oil. You can also add some chicken breast if you like.
  • Then, remove the pan from the heat when the vegetables are browned, and remove the carrot when it is soft, then strain and set aside.
  • Then, in a cup or bowl place two eggs, the cheese in small cubes and the two slices of ham in thin strips.
  • Mix the ingredients well and add salt and pepper. Repeat this step in another cup or bowl.
  • Once the reserved vegetables are cold, divide in half for each cup and mix again.
  • Place the remaining two tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet, and once it is hot, add the contents of one of the cups.
  • When you notice that it can be peeled off easily with a spatula, fold the omelet in half.
  • Finally, wait 5 minutes and turn again. Cook for another 5 minutes and that’s it. Do the above two steps with the contents of the other cup, and you will have an omelet for the whole family.

  • 3 teaspoons of salt (15 g).
  • 2 cups of spinach leaves (200 g).
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper (5 g).
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil (60 ml).
  • 1/2 cup of chopped leeks (120 g).

Preparation

  • The first thing you should do is heat the olive oil in a skillet and fry the leeks over medium heat.
  • Then add the chopped spinach leaves and mix well, leaving only for 1 minute before removing from heat.
  • Then you must beat the eggs, add salt, pepper and spinach with leeks, until everything is perfectly mixed.
  • Then place the mixture in a non-stick skillet over low heat and cover for a few minutes.
  • When you notice that the omelet is already cooked, turn it over with the help of a plate. Let it brown on both sides and that’s it, you can enjoy your vegetable omelet.
